Photo app developers are not seizing the opportunity for tablet-optimized photo apps
After a whirlwind of conferences in the last two months (PMA & DIMA in Vegas; HP Indigo Photo Summit in Barcelona, Spain; Dscoop 8 in Nashville, TN; Business Forum Imaging in Cologne, Germany) I have finally landed home and some time to set my teeth in a topic I’ve long wanted to get to the bottom of:
‣Does it make sense to create special versions of photo apps for tablets, or are the generic photo apps just good enough?
‣And what do the users think of the most popular tablet-optimized photo apps? (InstaPad – Instagram Gallery for iPad, Shutterfly for iPad, Adobe Photoshop Touch and Camera+ for iPad)
In short, the answer is here.
Not only was it fun to get a better handle on this topic, it was also fun and helpful to read so many user comments verbatim, while categorizing them in a way that helps to see the forrest through the trees.
